Ethics – Protecting Confidentiality on the job

The following are some ways that you can protect client confidentiality on the job:

  • shred documents
  • lock computer when leaving your work station
  • set short times interval before screen saver comes on
  • minimize intercom/speakerphone use
  • label privileged documents
  • avoid conversations in public places about confidential information and cases
  • avoid accessing email from public wifi
